I am a fan of wedding showers, but I particularly enjoy a good kitchen shower. I am a little biased because I enjoy cooking and all of the fun gadgets that come along with a well-stocked kitchen. It is always fun to see what people think is a "vital" necessity to have in one's kitchen. I know where I'm going to buy my kitchen shower gift whenever the next bride-to-be includes me on her invite list...
Anthropologie. I realize that their emphasis is on clothing, but they have some really fun, unique kitchen and dining items that would be fun to give (or receive!).
And of course, you could always look at the bride's registry to see what items she has chosen for her new kitchen. I'm a big believer in giving what you would like to receive, however tastes vary widely, so it is always safe to pick out an item from the registry, particularly china and glassware. You can never have too much of either! :)
